No doubt we share everything we eat to our cute friend after all who can resist those heart drenching puppy eyes. But are we doing it right? There are times when we have to play the strict parent role as it will only benefit them at the end. Foods that are normal and good to man can never be the same for dogs. It will affect them in a very bad way. Even if it shows no signs of symptoms, it sure will be affecting them internally. So, it is better to be a strict dog parent than to see them suffering at the end.

Let’s take a look at some of the foods that are a complete NO to your dog.

Chocolate is the worst food to your dog

Yes, chocolate is the worst food for your pet. It has Theobromine that is very bad for your dog’s immune system. Theobromine is present in all types of chocolate especially in high doses in baking chocolate and dark chocolate. It can lead to diarrhea and vomit and will make the dog very thirsty. The worst part is at times it can also affect the heart rhythm of the dog, tremors, seizures or even death.

Fatty Meat and Bacon can cause Pancreatitis

This sure will come as new news to you. Bacon and fatty meats have a high level of fats that will lead to Pancreatitis. Since these foods also are high in terms of salt, it can cause stomach upset in dogs. It may also make the dog thirsty, making them drink more water resulting in bloat. Hence, save those fatty meats to yourself and leave the leaner meat to your dogs.

Salty Foods can cause Poisoning

Every dog owner must have surely given their pet a treat of popcorn, chips or pretzels. It is fine as far as they are not salty. Salt leads to a condition known as sodium ion poisoning. The symptoms usually are urination and excessive thirst. In the most severe case, it can lead to vomiting, high-temperature body, diarrhea, bloat, and seizures. Therefore, the lower the salt intake, the healthier your dog will be.

Garlic and onion
Garlic and onion are very bad for the dog for it will destroy the red blood cells of your dog. This will, therefore, lead to anemia. It will also cause your dog to vomit, weakness, breathlessness, and more. It is fine to take in fewer quantities but too much intake will cause severe effects.

Apart from these main poisoning foods, it is advisable to avoid, ice cream, milk, cheese and cheese products, raw meat, raisins and grapes and sugary foods.
